Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Delaware River Basin depth to bedrock observations, model predictions, and explanatory variables

This data release contains model inputs, R code, and model outputs for predicting depth to bedrock in the Delaware River Basin at a 1km gridded resolution with a random forest model. Model inputs are provided in a comma-separated value (csv) file. The training data used in this study of 72,773 point observations of depth to bedrock (DTB) within the Delaware River Basin (DRB) that was compiled from

GIWW (Gulf Intracoastal Waterway) to Clovelly Hydrologic Restoration (BA-02): 2018 land-water classification

The Louisiana State Legislature created the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) in order to conserve, restore, create and enhance Louisiana's coastal wetlands. The wetland restoration plans developed pursuant to these acts specifically require an evaluation of the effectiveness of each coastal wetlands restoration project in achieving long-term solutions to arresting

The dataset includes 12,044 records from 564 earthquakes and 254 stations. Spectral values are provided at 21 periods (0.01-10 s). It also includes the basin depth mo

Quaternary fault mapping of the Zapata and Blanca sections of the Sangre de Cristo fault zone from high-resolution 3DEP topography

This data release contains a dataset that depicts fault scarps along the Zapata and Blanca sections of the Sangre de Cristo fault zone located in the San Luis basin of southern Colorado. The Zapata and Blanca sections extend from the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve to the Blanca Peak massif and are differentiated by a sharp change in fault zone orientation from north-south to east-west

Dataset of Species Presence Locations for 116 Freshwater Fish Species in Wyoming, Montana, and the Surrounding States from 1800 – 2022

The University of Wyoming Stream Species Dataset is a species presence dataset containing presence locations for 116 freshwater fish species in Wyoming, Montana, and the surrounding states. It contains data from 40,490 unique sample events (location, month, year). Data was derived from multiple sources (Table 1) and limited to fish occurrences in rivers and streams.

Core XRD data compilation for the Barnett and Woodford Shales of the Permian Basin, compiled from literature

This data release is a compilation of a literature search of published core X-ray diffraction (XRD) data for the Permian Basin Barnett and Woodford Shales, and includes data from: the Reliance Triple Crown 1 (RTC 1) well of Pecos County, Texas; Fasken Fee BM SWD 1 well of Andrews County, Texas; the M G Nevill well of Culberson County, Texas; the Mesquite 1 well of Hamilton County, Texas; the Faske

Magnetic susceptibility and density measurements in the Wet Mountains, Colorado, 2022 to 2023

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) collected rock magnetic susceptibility and density measurements to understand the causative sources of airborne magnetic and ground gravity survey anomalies in the Wet Mountains, Colorado. A total of 609 magnetic susceptibility and 86 density measurements were collected from outcrops and hand samples, respectively, from July 2022 to June 2023. These measurements a

Comprehensive Historic Biodiversity Inventory List of Boston Harbor, 1861-2020

This data set is an amalgamation of records of marine and coastal species occurrence in the Boston Harbor. Taxon include marine mammals, shorebirds, fish, marine invertebrates, and marine macro algae. The earliest record acquired was from 1861. Records span through 2020. We curated records from federal and state agencies, peer reviewed and gray literature, and scientific grade research observation

East Marsh Island Marsh Creation (TV-21): 2021 land-water classification

The Louisiana State Legislature created the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) in order to conserve, restore, create and enhance Louisiana's coastal wetlands. The wetland restoration plans developed pursuant to these acts specifically require an evaluation of the effectiveness of each coastal wetlands restoration project in achieving long-term solutions to arresting

Sampling site, water quality, and fish community data from multi-agency monitoring of the Illinois Waterway response to lock and dam closures, 2019-2021

Lock and dam closures along the Illinois Waterway occurred in summer of 2020, resulting in a prolonged reduction in traffic of large vessels along the Waterway. To study the response of Illinois Waterway water quality and fish community, ongoing water quality and fish Long Term Resource Monitoring (LTRMP) elements of the Upper Mississippi River Restoration program were expanded from the La Grange
