Geology, Minerals, Energy, and Geophysics Science Center Director
Welcome to the Geology, Minerals, Energy, and Geophysics Science Center (GMEGSC), a research arm of the USGS that addresses earth science issues of critical importance in the Western United States as well as nationally and internationally. With support from the USGS Energy and Minerals, Core Science Systems, Natural Hazards, and Land Resources Mission Areas, as well as in collaboration with Federal, State, Local, and Academic partners, GMEGSC scientists map, model, and monitor the Earth. Whether studying mineral deposits formed more than a billion years ago or characterizing changes in soils and landscapes that are happening today, the GMEGSC team works to provide the knowledge needed to support the Nation’s security, sustainability, and prosperity.
Please explore our website to learn more about GMEGSC projects and products. You can access our main navigation in the left-hand menu. Also, please feel to reach out to us directly with any information needs or to contact staff via the "connect" tab.
