Aquaculture and irrigation water-use model (AIWUM) version 1.1 estimates and related datasets for the Mississippi Alluvial Plain
This data release contains monthly and annual water-use estimates from the aquaculture and irrigation water-use model (AIWUM) version 1.1 for the Mississippi Alluvial Plain, April 1999 to October 2019. Aquaculture and irrigation estimates contained in this data release are representative of groundwater withdrawal for six different categories: aquaculture, cotton, corn, rice, soybeans, and all other crops. Contained in this data release are monthly and annual estimates by water-use category and monthly and annual total estimates. Monthly and annual totals are a summation of water use for aquaculture, cotton, corn, rice, soybeans, and all other crops, by month and by year. Also contained in this data release are lands permitted to withdraw groundwater from the Mississippi River Valley Alluvial Aquifer as well as flowmeter data from the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality. Estimates are provided here in multiple forms: monthly estimates by use, monthly total estimates, annual estimates by use, annual total estimates, and total estimates by water year. All estimates are in units of in cubic meters per square kilometer.
