Coral cover and health determined from seafloor photographs and diver observations, West Hawai'i, 2010-2011

February 21, 2019

Bottom photographs and transect survey data were collected at 31 stations spanning 75 km of west Hawaii Island over the period 2010 to 2011 to examine coral community structure, coral colony size structure, and coral health. The data also establish baseline conditions and support efforts to track change in coral communities in the future. Stations were sited along a gradient in exposure to submarine groundwater discharge and urban and agricultural development. This data release contains georeferenced bottom photographs and data summarizing substrate and coral species cover, coral colony size structure, bleaching occurrence, and prevalence of coral health indicators.
