Brief Interruption to Landsat Mission Web Pages
On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, upgrades to the USGS Web platform will cause access interruptions on the main Landsat Missions Web Site. All www.usgs.gov pages will be affected by these upgrades.
Work to upgrade the USGS Web platform will begin at 4:00 p.m. EST, with all webpages to become unavailable by 6:00 p.m. EST. The Landsat Mission Web Site is expected to be available about 10 p.m. EST Wednesday evening. Search functionality may take another 24 hours to complete.
New USGS Publications and all API based content will begin being populated late in the day January 18th. The work for this update is expected to be completed by Friday, January 19th.
Landsat-Website hosted Web Tools, such as the Landsat Acquisition Calendar, the Spectral Characteristics Viewer, and others hosted from landsat.usgs.gov will remain available, as will EarthNow!.
Landsat data access portals such as EarthExplorer will not be affected by this interruption.
