The EarthNow! Landsat Image Viewer displays near-real time imagery created from data acquired by Landsat satellites as they cross over the Earth. Along with live stream video of the acquisitions, recordings of the passes are captured, and available to replay for up to 24 hours.

Landsat 9 acquisitions were recently added to EarthNow!, and now both Landsat 8 and Landsat 9 passes can be viewed as they happen. Another update added to the viewer is the detection of fires or hot spots — when such areas are encountered, the viewer displays a ‘fire’ icon showing the location of the hotspots, and a red box on the right side of the screen provides a preview of the area affected. (See example below).

EarthNow! is based on FarEarth Global Observer (Developed by Pinkmatter Solutions) to help visualize incoming data for satellite receiving stations, which is freely available to the public.
