Detailed Description

This memorandum alerts users of the U.S. Geological Survey National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL) of revisions to results provided through the National Water Information System (NWIS, https://waterdata.usgs.gov) for 1,824 results released between April 17, 2020, and July 28, 2020, for the following observed property (formerly known as parameter code 70300):
Dissolved solids, water, filtered, dried at 180 degrees Celsius.

For these results, the numerical value reported will not change, only an incorrect dilution factor of “1” was assigned to the samples essentially indicating no dilution factor applied, however this resulted in the erroneous application of a “d” (Sample was diluted) value qualifier code and a
raised reporting level.
