Detailed Description
"Crashing wave" sounds of the churning lava lake within Kīlauea Volcano's summit vent are interrupted by sharp "pops" produced when rocks falling from the vent rim hit the lake surface. A 30-second recording of the summit vent sounds is posted on the HVO Web site.
