The passing of our Fire Chief
All of us at Carroll Township are deeply saddened to announce the death of Fire Chief John Brough, who passed away on Sunday, May 19th. John was among the first citizens to become trained as both an EMT and firefighter in our township, and he was instrumental in the founding of our fire department in 1979 as a Charter Member. John served on the department for 45 years and as Fire Chief since 2008. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 29th from 2-8pm at Crosser Funeral Home in Oak Harbor (301 N Locust Street). About Us
Carroll Township was formed from Portage township in 1835. Located on the Toussaint River in Northern Ohio, Carroll Township's first settlers were French-Canadians, who came to the area to hunt, fish, trap and trade with the Indians.
