Christopher Hight

I design, develop and maintain software for the Volcano Disaster Assistance Program and its partners throughout the world.

As a Computer Scientist with the Volcano Disaster Assistance Program (VDAP), I build data connections, visualizations, and software in support of numerous volcano science subject areas (geochemistry, seismology, geology, and others). I build software requirement specifications (SRS)/software design specifications (SDS) to streamline the design process between developers and scientists. In addition to software, I also support small electronic systems like the microprocessors on mobile seismometers, as well as assist in the repair, installation, and maintenance of remote field equipment on volcanoes in Washington, Oregon, and California. I also offer internal trainings on topics like Global Information Tracker (GIT), how to automate foreign language document translation, and how to automate dev ops to run database updates. I enjoy the unique projects and experiences that working with VDAP offers.
