Data Collection Effort Looks at Groundwater Nitrogen Inputs into Long Island Sound
The New England Water Science Center has launched a new project in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Long Island Sound Study (LISS) to determine how much nitrogen is entering into Long Island Sound (LIS) via groundwater from small tributaries within the Sound’s watershed.
Buoy Platforms Monitoring Water Quality Deployed in Southport and Saugatuck Harbors
This past May, the USGS New England Water Science Center launched two marked buoy platforms containing water quality instruments at the mouth of Southport Harbor and lower Saugatuck Harbor near Fairfield, Connecticut.
