Map of Project ROAM plots

Survey crews sampled plots in Oregon, Idaho, and Montana in 2023 and 2024 to assess the effectiveness of restoration. Project ROAM--Rapid and Other Methods for Assessment and Monitoring-- uses a suite of vegetation and soil sampling techniques to rapidly generate information for land managers. Some of the plots in Idaho and Montana are within Sagebrush Collaborative Restoration Landscapes, which have been prioritized for long-term strategic investments to defend and grow sagebrush core habitat.
