A names review is documented in the internal U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) IPDS by adding a reviewer of type “Names review” on the Reviewers tab. In cases where a peer reviewer also conducts the names review, their name should appear twice in the Reviewers tab—once as “USGS-initiated peer” and once as “Names review.” Any documentation or files provided by the reviewer as part of the names review, and reconciliation by the author, should be uploaded to the IPDS Documents tab.
