This application provides an overview of oil and gas well history of the United States, from 1880 to September 1, 2022. Well history data is aggregated into 10-mile squares indicating the total number of wells and counts of wells classified as oil, gas, dry, injection, hydraulically fractured, and/or horizontal wells. 

This application allows the display and query of groundwater drought probabilities for Northeast region wells. This application allows users to view, query, select, and export groundwater drought probabilities for next three months.

The Virginia and West Virginia Groundwater Levels and Trends web application provides access to groundwater level data from continuous groundwater wells across Virginia and West Virginia. Continuous wells include real time and non-real time wells. Data update daily and are compared to long-term monthly statistics.

The USGS is the research arm of the U.S. Department of the Interior and has established a series of strategic goals that focus its efforts on serving the American people. Within the USGS, the Ecosystems Mission Area is responsible for conducting and sponsoring research that addresses overarching goal "Science that Supports Wild and Urban Spaces, and the Landscapes In-Between."

In 2016, researchers in Wyoming discovered the world's longest migration of mule deer. A doe fitted with a GPS tracking collar migrated 242 miles one way. She is known as Deer 255. Each summer, she lives in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, but travels far into Wyoming's sagebrush sea and high desert ecosystem for winter.

One of the three pillars of the CRU mission is to lead research that provides science solutions for the management needs of our State and Federal agency cooperators—research that informs decision making. The U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center (USGS SPCMSC) Geologic Core and Sample Database was established to catalog and preserve geologic materials and their metadata. This geonarrative explores the history of geologic sampling at the USGS SPCMSC, why and how this database was developed, and where the database can be accessed.

The Landsat Acquisition Tool helps determine when the Landsat satellites acquire data over specific areas of interest, displaying the paths that were acquired on any given day.

The Time of Travel Beta Application was built in cooperation with the Inland Oil Spill Preparedness Program. The primary goal of the application is to provide rapid estimates for instream travel times for emergency spill response scenarios. The application also provided mean reach velocities and general travel time estimates that also can be used by other water resource managers.
