GloVis

The USGS Global Visualization Viewer (GloVis) is an online search and order tool for selected remote sensing data.

MODFLOW

MODFLOW is the USGS's three-dimensional (3D) finite-difference groundwater model. MODFLOW is considered an international standard for simulating and predicting groundwater conditions and groundwater/surface-water interactions.

SPARROW

SPARROW (SPAtially-Referenced Regression On Watershed attributes), is watershed based and designed for use in predicting long-term average values of water characteristics, such as concentrations and amounts of selected constituents that are delivered to downstream receiving waters.

North American Aquatic Macroinvertebrate Digital Reference Collection (NAAMDRC)

Aquatic invertebrates are a key component of freshwater ecosystems, and an understanding of aquatic invertebrate taxonomy is central to freshwater science. The North American Aquatic Macroinvertebrate Digital Reference Collection (NAAMDRC) was created by the USGS Aquatic Experimental Lab (AXL) to provide users with high-quality digital microscopy photographs.

Tracking Water Quality of the Nation's Streams and Rivers

An online graphical data tool provides annual summaries of nutrient and sediment concentrations and loads and streamflow information for 106 sites monitored as part of the USGS National Water-Quality Network for Streams and Rivers.

Photographs of Willow Creek Reservoir near Heppner, OR

Interactive photograph viewer used to see changes to Willow Creek Reservoir. Includes 5 cameras. Best viewing starts after September 17, 2016. This web tool is no longer updated because data from the photo monitor is no longer available. Retained for historical reference.

GLRI Edge-of-Field Monitoring (geonarrative)

The GLRI Edge-of-Field Monitoring project focuses on identifying and reducing agricultural sources of excess nutrients which can threaten the health of the Great Lakes. This geonarrative details the basics of edge-of-field monitoring (EOF), explores EOF applications, shows USGS is working collaboratively with our partners, and discusses how EOF can improve conservation efforts.

USGS Data Grapher

This is a data graphing utility that allows the user to build graphs of data from selected USGS stations. Select the station, the type of graph, the parameter(s) to plot, and the starting and ending dates for the graph.

GAP/LANDFIRE National Terrestrial Ecosystems 2011 Map Viewer

The GAP/LANDFIRE National Terrestrial Ecosystems represents a highly thematically detailed land cover map of the U.S. This dataset is produced by the U.S. Geological Survey in collaboration with the LANDFIRE Program.  The spatial data layer was created using Landsat satellite imagery and a detailed vegetation and land use classification system.

Gap Analysis Project (GAP) Species Viewer

The GAP Species Viewer provides nation-wide range maps and distribution models for amphibians, birds, mammals, and reptiles occurring in the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands. These kinds of maps and data are fundamental to assessing patterns of species richness and planning for the management of the nation's biological diversity.
