Environmental stressors can directly impact the prevalence and severity of disease in aquatic animal populations. WFRC scientists investigate the role of contaminants in modulating susceptibility to pathogens and disease in fish. Our research explores how contaminants impact the host immune response in bass, suckers and other aquatic animal species.
