Our mission is provide the best quality stage and discharge information to our customers. The stage data along with discrete measurements are used to develop stage-discharge relationships thus inferring discharge.

Ohio StreamGage Program
Ohio operates over 300 "real-time" streamflow gages across the state. Data is collected via equipment at the gage location and transmitted by satellite on an hourly basis (some sites may vary from hourly). Once the data is received at the center, it is processed into a national database. The data is served to the public from a USGS national server termed NWISWeb for public viewing. These are some of the tasks/priorities that encompass our streamgage program.
- gage operation - ensuring that they are working properly and transmitting data
- flood measurements
- working streamflow records - process consists of checking, reviewing, and approving each record
- routine field trips
- new gage construction
- project work
- field maintenance
- running levels
- equipment maintenance
