Detailed Description
Rabbit populations (including North American native or feral domestic species of the genera Brachylagus, Lepus, Oryctolagus, and Sylvilagus) can be estimated from surveys using a variety of approaches. Here we provide a brief description of survey methods for rabbits, with additional details in the referenced literature. We cover survey methods that estimate presence/absence, relative abundance, abundance estimates from mark-recapture, and distance sampling.
