Activity continues in Kīlauea Volcano's lower East Rift Zone

Fissure 8 (pictured in the distance) continues to erupt lava into the channel leading northeastward from the vent. The channel turns south near the Kapoho Crater and enters the ocean at Ahalanui (not pictured). Channel overflows are visible in the lower right.
