April 24, 2024 — Webcam upgrades on Mauna Loa's Southwest Rift zone

HVO staff also installed a new pan-tilt-zoom webcam (MDLcam) on the Southwest Rift Zone of Mauna Loa on April 24, 2024. The camera model view can be controlled remotely and is capable of panning horizontally (from left to right), tilting vertically (up and down), and zooming (for magnification). Here, an HVO physical science technician does the final work on the wiring that powers the webcam from the battery case.
