Detailed Description

Barbara Lidz exits the two-person submersible Delta after diving to 200 feet below sea level to collects bottom sediment from around exploratory-well sites drilled along the shelf off the west coast of Florida in the Gulf of Mexico. Image from USGS Open-File Report 94–130 were captured and enhanced by Betsy Boynton, Cherokee Nation Technology Solutions (CNTS) contractor to USGS.
