This photo is of the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse in Acadia National Park, Maine at the southern tip of Mount Desert Island. Heres, waves from the open ocean, beating against the rock walls with full force, have eroded a wave-cut platform of considerable size at the base of the sea cliff which is more visible during low-tides.
