Detailed Description
USGS research oceanographers Jenna Brown and Joe Long installed this video camera atop the Shoreline Island Resort hotel in Madeira Beach, Florida. Starting in February 2017, the camera has recorded video for 17 minutes every hour during daylight hours. Selected images are posted at https://coastal.er.usgs.gov/hurricanes/research/video-remote-sensing.php. Brown and Long are using the video images to improve understanding and computer modeling of beach processes, especially those that change the coast.
