Detailed Description
In collaboration with the National Park Service, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and the Vesta Corporation, the Environmental Geosciences group researched a new approach to climate change mitigation. The team led an experiment at the Herring River site as a first examination. Gas fluxes, soil carbon, and aquatic carbon fluxes were measured, along with indicators of biological and ecological response. The pilot experiment is intended to support a proposal to include carbon dioxide removal as part of the Herring River restoration.
