Evapotranspiration Uranium Mill Tailing Covers

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulates uranium mill tailings under the Uranium Mill Tailings Control Act of 1978. This drawing is a straight-forward cross sectional schematic of the different types of mill tailing covers. It is drawn to scale in a “text-book” sort of style including the different layers of rock, gravel, soil and plant cover associated with each type of cover. It is a good example of how an artistic rendering can take something simple and make it interesting and pleasing to look at.
