The USGS Streamgaging Program has been measuring our Nation’s rivers and streams since 1889. This animation is part of the interactive Gages Through The Ages data visualization story, which presents a visual history of 130 years of USGS streamgaging and how streamgages have supported our Nation’s changing water needs and priorities.
