Photo of horses at a USGS groundwater sampling well from USGS circular 1359 " Groundwater Quality in the Columbia Plateau and Snake River Plain Basin-Fill and Basaltic-Rock Aquifers and the Hawaiian Volcanic-Rock Aquifers, Washington, Idaho, and Hawaii, 1993 - 2005." As part of the NAWQA Program, water samples were collected from domestic, public-supply, monitoring, irrigation, and stock wells in a variety of settings. Here, horses graze next to a domestic well in the Jackson valley study area, Wyoming.
