Detailed Description
This view of Pu`u `O`o and perched lava ponds is toward the southwest. The lava ponds are in middle of image. Lava erupting to form these ponds is now feeding a 2-mile long `a`a flow moving to the northeast. Photograph by Tim Orr, U.S. Geological Survey, July 23, 2007.
