Detailed Description
Oahu, Hawaii: Coral reef and overlying marine deposits a few meters above sea level, north of Kaena Point. This reef has been dated to the last interglacial period, MIS 5.5, at ~120,000 years by U-series analyses of fossil corals (Muhs, D.R., Simmons, K.R., and Steinke, B., 2002, Timing and warmth of the last interglacial period: New U-series evidence from Hawaii and Bermuda and a new fossil compilation for North America: Quaternary Science Reviews, v. 21, p. 1355-1383).
