Figure 3. Side-looking acoustic Doppler velocity meter (ADVM) and water quality sonde on slanted rail system in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. The small red disk on the top of the ADVM is a transducer that creates a vertical acoustic beam to reveal vertical velocity and range to the water surface.
