Detailed Description

Two mayfly (Ephemeroptera) larvae recovered from the stomach of a young-of-year pallid sturgeon. With their streamlined bodies and large tarsal claws used to grasp and hold on to the bottom, this species is adapted to living in sandy environments with swift currents.
