This map identifies the “evolutionary hotspots” in the Mojave Desert and whether they overlap with land at risk for construction and development (Figure 3 from Vandergast et al. 2013). Study led by Dr. Amy Vandergast, geneticist with the USGS Western Ecological Research Center.
