Detailed Description

Permanent Site: H2 West Transect; Depth: 7.7 Meters (25.1 Feet); Distance from river mouth: 2.6 Kilometers (1.6 Miles) east; Pre/Post Dam Removal: 10 months post-dam removal; Lat/Long: 48.15008216,-123.53277857; Site Description: This site is medium to shallow depth. Substrate is mainly gravel with some sand, cobble and an occasional boulder and has not changed since dam removal. Density of seaweed has greatly decreased. Reds remain (0:12, 1:10 seconds) but most are very small (0:35 seconds). Only a few browns remain, mainly the perennial seaweed Pterygophora californica (1:27, 2:04 seconds). Invertebrates seen on video: glassy plume hydroids Plumularia setacea (orange growth on base of Pterygophora stipe at 0:19 seconds).
