USGS staff participated in science outreach at Riverview High School, where students learned about environmental science and took part in interactive learning experiences.

USGS Pennsylvania Water Science Center led a demonstration at Riverview High School for the 12th grade science class on May 4th, 2021, in Oakmont, Pennsylvania. As part of the school's involvement with the Creek Connections program, students collected water quality samples from the nearby Allegheny River.

Students learned about the use of daily field equipment and engaged in a question and answer session about environmental science careers. Discussions related local and national USGS efforts with class curriculum. Pictured are USGS employees, Ian Lynch and Emily Woodward, who prepared the demonstration and discussed the importance of resulting environmental data.
