Cole Krehbiel
Cole is a Geographer with the U.S. Geological Survey at the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center and is the Project Scientist for NASA’s Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC).
Cole began his professional career working as a Geospatial Analyst at the Geospatial Sciences Center of Excellence at South Dakota State University working on NASA-funded land remote sensing research projects in 2015. From 2016-2023, Cole worked as a contractor at USGS EROS, working initially on the LP DAAC Science Integration team where he supported missions including ASTER, MODIS, VIIRS, GEDI, HLS, and EMIT by creating resources and conducting science communication and outreach activities in support science enablement for diverse user communities. More recently, he worked as a Data Scientist on the Land Change Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection (LCMAP) team before beginning his current position as the Project Scientist for the LP DAAC.
