Elizabeth Orning, PhD

Beth (she/her) is a biologist at the Fort Collins Science Center and part of a large collaborative research team focused on developing science and technologies that address landscape-scale questions of wildlife, habitat, and land use across the west. Her research interests focus on using field methodology and remote sensing to better understand the intersection of spatial ecology, population demography, interspecific relationships (predator-prey, competition), and applied research to facilitate management of endangered, threatened, and species of conservation concern. She has over a decade of experience studying large mammals and other wildlife across the United States, and currently works on landscape and demographic simulation modeling that supports wildlife conservation and management across the sagebrush biome.
