Xan Fredericks
Xan works for the National Geospatial Program (NGP) as the acting Emergency Response Coordinator and Chair of the Geospatial Information Response Team.
Alexandra “Xan” Fredericks is the acting Emergency Response Coordinator for the U.S. Geological Survey National Geospatial Program, overseeing the Program’s emergency response activities and the Bureau’s Geospatial Information Response Team. She collaborates with a variety of partners to aid the discovery and coordination of geospatial data, as well as the delivery of actionable, science-based information to the Bureau, other agencies, and emergency responders.
Xan is the Chair of the USGS Lidar User Group and Co-Chair of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Bathymetry Working Group. As the National Map Liaison to Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands for the USGS NGP User Engagement Office, she uses her expertise on National Map products and services to engage with users and stakeholders in all 50 states and U.S. territories.
Xan is a GISCI-certified GIS Professional with an MGIS from Penn State University and a BS in Marine Science-Geology from Eckerd College. She has served on the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) Board of Directors, is a past President of the ASPRS Florida Region, and a past National Director of the ASPRS GIS Division. Prior to her current role, Xan was the Lidar Coordinator for the USGS Coastal and Marine Hazards and Resources Program.

These XYZ datasets provide lidar-derived bare-earth topography for Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. Elevation measurements were acquired pre-Hurricane Isabel on September 16 and post-Hurricane Isabel on September 21, 2003 by the first-generation Experimental Advanced Airborne Research Lidar (EAARL), in cooperation with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

Elevation measurements were acquired on October 25 and November 8, 2002 by the first-generation Experimental Advanced Airborne Research Lidar (EAARL) in cooperation with the National Park Service (NPS) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
