It is anticipated that these positions will start no later than March 2026. The person selected must have all PhD requirements completed and MUST submit proof of completion prior to receiving an official start date. Exceptions may be made for a later start date on a case-by-case basis.

23-01. Research and development of a new National land use product
The Earth’s land surface is impacted by human decisions and activities. The USGS has long been the Nation’s leader in the production of consistent, accurate, national-scale land cover data. A new national-scale land use product would augment USGS’ long-term land change monitoring and provide critical information for regional to national assessments.
