Powell Center funded six proposals in FY14, four in FY15 and FY16, five in FY17, three in FY18, six in FY19, four in FY20, six in FY21, FY22, FY23, and two in FY24.

Proposal Information

    • Proposal Submission Instructions

      Powell Center proposals are due each year on January 31st.
      Working Group meetings for successful proposals can begin after October 1st.

      Critical Zone proposals are due January 15th.

    • Financial Information for Working Groups

      Expenses covered by the Powell Center include airfare, hotel, and per diem expenses for up to 15 participants per Working Group from anywhere in the world. Salary and benefit support up to $100,000 is provided for a Fellow. Salary for USGS WMA employees will be covered for the time the participant is at the Powell Center. Some funds are available for page charges.
