Dr Laura Norman wins the 2024 Farouk El-Baz Award

On September 24th, the GSA Quaternary Geology and Geomorphology (QG&G) Division awarded Dr. Laura Norman, the 2024 Farouk El-Baz Award for Desert Research during their Awards Ceremony.
A written transcript of her acceptance speech will be printed in the QG&G Newsletter. She also provided an invited 30-minute extended lecture about rock detention structures being used as natural infrastructure in dryland streams during the GSA 2024 Connects Annual Meeting in Anaheim, California.
