Woods Hole Partnership Education Program (PEP): PEP is a multi-institutional program between six Woods Hole scientific institutions. This program allows college juniors and seniors from underrepresented groups in the marine and ocean sciences to spend a summer gaining practical experience and mentorship from scientists in the Woods Hole community. WHOI Summer Student Fellowship (SSF): SSF is a program offered for undergraduate students who have completed their junior year. WHOI's aim is to provide students mentorship and a first-hand introduction to research in oceanography, oceanographic engineering or marine policy. Learn more about SSF!
The City College of New York/ City University of New York partnership: The USGS is interested in forming partnerships with minority serving institutions to provide opportunities for students interested in science careers. Read more about USGS STEM educational partnerships.
USGS/ National Association of Geoscience Teachers Cooperative Summer Field Training Program: The CSFP in the longest continuously running internship program in the earth sciences. Nominated students work with the USGS Youth and Education in Science office to match students with potential USGS mentored projects at centers across the United States. These projects are initially appointed for 10- 12 weeks and can be extended depending on the science center's needs. Learn more about CSFP!
Mendenhall Research Fellowship Program: This program provides postdoctoral Fellows opportunities to work on research with USGS scientists to enhance their scientific stature and credentials to advance their careers in science. Learn more about the Mendenhall program.
