Models, Inputs, and Outputs for Estimating the Uncertainty of Discharge Simulations for the Lake Michigan Diversion Using the Hydrological Simulation Program - FORTRAN Model

This data release contains the models and their inputs and outputs needed to reproduce the findings for the publication by Soong and Over (2022), "Effect of Uncertainty of Discharge Data on Uncertainty of Discharge Simulation for the Lake Michigan Diversion, Northeastern Illinois and Northwestern Indiana." These data were developed in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago Dist

Quality-Assurance and Quality-Control Data for Discrete Water-Quality Samples Collected in McHenry County, Illinois, 2020

In June and July of 2020, 45 groundwater wells in McHenry County, Illinois, were sampled for water quality (field properties, major ions, nutrients, and trace metals) and 12 wells were sampled for contaminants of emerging concern (pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and wastewater indicator compounds). Quality-assurance and quality-control samples were collected during the June and July 2020 sampling tha

Meteorological Database, Argonne National Laboratory, Illinois, January 1, 1948 - September 30, 2021

This data release is the update of the U.S. Geological Survey - ScienceBase data release by Bera (2021), with the processed data through September 30, 2021. The primary data for water year 2021 (a water year is the 12-month period, October 1 through September 30, in which it ends) is downloaded from the Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) (Argonne National Laboratory, 2022) and is processed followin

Peak-flow frequency analysis for U.S. Geological Survey streamgage 05465500 Iowa River at Wapello, Iowa, based on data through water year 2021

This data release presents a peak-flow frequency analysis (Eash and others, 2013) for U.S. Geological Survey streamgage 05465500 Iowa River at Wapello, Iowa. These methods are used to provide estimates of peak-flow quantiles corresponding to the 50-, 20-, 10-, 4-, 2-, 1-, 0.5-, and 0.2-percent annual exceedance probabilities (AEPs). Annual peak-flow data used in the peak-flow frequency analysis fo

Geospatial data and model archives associated with precipitation-driven flood-inundation mapping of Muddy Creek at Harrisonville, Missouri

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the city of Harrisonville, Missouri, assessed flooding of Muddy Creek resulting from varying precipitation magnitudes and durations, antecedent soil moisture conditions, and channel conditions. The precipitation scenarios were used to develop a library of flood-inundation maps that included a 3.8-mile reach of Muddy Creek and tributaries withi

Permeameter test data collected in the streambed sediments of the Cedar River near Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 2014

This data release contains a set of permeameter test data collected in February and March of 2014 on the Cedar River near Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The permeameter tests were performed in proximity to five horizontal collector wells (HCs) 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6, and three vertical wells that are operated by the City of Cedar Rapids. Each dataset represents groundwater levels over time while individual HC and

Water-quality results from a wastewater reuse study: Inorganic and organic compositions of wastewater effluent and select urban and agricultural water types during rain-induced runoff, Chickasha, Oklahoma, 2018-2019

Oklahoma State University South-Central Research Station (SCRS) was used to conduct research to understand the chemical composition of various water types and their potential environmental and human health effects. The study area provided the opportunity to study five water types: (1) receiving surface water (Washita River), (2) urban stormwater, (3) wastewater treatment plant effluent used for ir

Streamflow measurements collected along the Deer Creek main stem and tributaries on March 26, 2014, in St. Louis County, Missouri

Streamflow wading measurements were made on March 26, 2014 within the Deer Creek watershed in St. Louis County, Missouri, following U.S. Geological Survey methods in Turnipseed and Sauer (2010). This effort occurred during a date and time void of rainfall or snowmelt runoff to properly evaluate a base-flow condition. Measuring locations were chosen based on inflow junctions (for example open chann

Daily streamflow performance benchmark defined by D-score (v0.1) for the National Water Model Retrospective (v2.1) at benchmark streamflow locations

This data release contains the D-score (version 0.1) daily streamflow performance benchmark results for the National Water Model (NWM) Retrospective version 2.1 computed at streamgage benchmark locations (version 1) as defined by Foks and others (2022). Model error was determined by evaluating predicted daily mean streamflow (aggregated from an hourly timestep) versus observed daily mean streamflo

Estimated nutrient and sediment concentrations from major rivers in Illinois based on continuous monitoring from October 1, 2015, through September 30, 2021

During water years 2016-2021 (a water year begins on October 1 and ends on September 30 and is designated by the year in which it ends), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Illinois EPA), operated continuous monitoring stations on eight of the major rivers in Illinois to better quantify nutrient and sediment loadings from the State o

Watershed Data Management (WDM) Database (SC20.WDM) for Salt Creek Streamflow Simulation, DuPage County, Illinois, January 1, 1997, through September 30, 2020
