Lightning fires in North Dakota grasslands and in pine-savanna lands of South Dakota and Montana
Lightning strike fires which occurred between 1940 and 1981 were studied in mixed-grass prairie grasslands and in pine-savanna lands in the Northern Great Plains region. Ecological distribution and crude density of breeding birds on prairie wetlands
Breeding populations of 28 species of wetland-dwelling birds other than waterfowl (Anatidae) were censused on 1,321 wetlands lying within the prairie pothole region of North Dakota.
