Digital Elevation Model of Little Holland Tract, Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, California, 2015

This USGS Data Release presents data collected from bathymetric and topographic surveys and the resulting digital elevation model for the Little Holland Tract in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, California. During May and June of 2015, a team of scientists from the USGS Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center (PCMSC) conducted multiple surveys (USGS Field Activity 2015-642-FA) to collect

Bathymetry and Backscatter from 2013 Interferometric Swath Bathymetry Systems Survey of Columbia River Mouth, Oregon and Washington

High-resolution swath bathymetry and backscatter were collected in the Mouth of the Columbia River (MCR) as part of the Office of Naval Research (ONR) funded River and Inlet Dynamics Experiment in 2013. The goal of the U.S. Geological Survey's component of the research was to evaluate the various hydrodynamic and sediment transport processes in the Columbia River estuary entrance using a combinati

Data Release for the BOEM-USGS Study of the Regional Importance of Manmade Structures as Rockfish Nurseries in the Santa Barbara Channel

Seafloor substrate data available from multiple sources has been modified for the purpose of characterizing the seafloor for the Regional Importance of Manmade Structures as Rockfish Nurseries study. Substrate was classified from multibeam sonar data using a video supervised numerical classification methodology. The overall objective of this study is to begin to integrate region-wide oceanographic

West Coast Littoral Cells -- Shoreline Based on Washington, Oregon, and California Data Collected from 2002 to 2015

These data depict littoral cells along the West Coast of the United States, as segments of the shoreline of Washington, Oregon, and California. A littoral cell is a reach of the coast that is isolated sedimentologically from adjacent coastal reaches and that features its own sources and sinks. Isolation is typically caused by protruding headlands, submarine canyons, inlets and some river mouths th

Underwater Video Footage, March 2014, Faga`alu Bay, Tutuila Island, American Samoa

Underwater video imagery was collected in March 2014 in the nearshore waters of Fagaalu Bay on the Island of Tutuila, American Samoa, as part of the U.S. Geological Survey Coastal and Marine Geology Program's Pacific Coral Reefs Project. Included here are 40 video files in .mpg format and an Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) shapefile with location (navigation) points every two secon

California State Waters Map Series--Offshore of Aptos, California

This publication about the Offshore of Aptos map area includes 10 map sheets that contain explanatory text, in addition to this descriptive pamphlet and a data catalog of geographic information system (GIS) files. A temporary DOI# was issued when the publication was in the works. Once it became an official USGS Open-File Report it was given a formal DOI#, which this temporary DOI# redirects to.

Coastal and Marine Geology Video and Photograph Portal

This portal contains U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) video and photography of the seafloor off of coastal California and Massachusetts, and aerial imagery of the coastline along segments of the Gulf of Mexico and mid-Atlantic coasts. These data were collected as part of several USGS Coastal and Marine Geology Program Seafloor Mapping projects and Hurricane and Extreme Storm research. The USGS Coasta
