Salmonellosis in passerine birds in Maryland and West Virginia
Salmonella typhimurium was responsible for a die-off of evening grosbeaks (Hesperiphona vespertina) at Elkins, West Virginia, and was isolated from a pine siskin (Spinus pinus) collected at the site of a die-off near Baltimore, Maryland.

Serotypes in Saccharomyces telluris: Their relation to source of isolation
Three serotypes have been characterized with three reference strains of Saccharomyces telluris and designated as A, B, and C. One reference strain of Torpulopsis bovina, the imperfect form of S. telluris, belonged to serotype B. Strains of S. telluris isolated from four columbid species were serotyped. Summer behavior of immature radio-equipped woodcock in central Maine
The behavior of 15 immature American woodcock (Philohela minor) was studied in central Maine during the summers of 1969 and 1970 using radiotelemetry. The monitored birds used a variety of nocturnal sites including old fields, bogs, powerlines, highway medians, woods roads, and fore clearings. Elimination pattern of aroclor 1254 components in the bobwhite
The gas-liquid chromatographic profile for Aroclor 1254 did not maintain its integrity in bobwhite quail fed Aroclor 1254 for 14 days and clean food 14 or 42 days thereafter.
