The National Digital Trails project is continuing to build the nationwide trails dataset which is part of the USGS National Transportation Database.

Data Sources

The National Digital Trails dataset is part of the USGS Transportation data theme and can be downloaded from the National Map Viewer.   Trails have been aggregated by the USGS over the past several years from predominantly authoritative sources.
