Florida National Scenic Trail

Learn about the Florida National Scenic Trail.

During the PNTS workshop, we were fortunate to attend a field trip to the Little Big Econ State Forest to hike a portion of the Florida National Scenic Trail. It was beautiful and unique! Florida National Scenic trail was designated as a National Scenic Trail in 1983. It stretches for approximately 1,500 miles – all within the state of Florida from Big Cypress National Preserve to Fort Pickens at Gulf Islands National Seashore, Pensacola Beach. It covers unique Florida landscapes and ecology and offers many recreational opportunities along different sections of the trail. Florida Trail Association offers printed navigation maps, tips, and other information about the trail.
