Modeled estimates of altered hydrologic metrics for all NHDPlus v21 reaches in the Chesapeake Bay watershed

Data are modeled estimates of flow status (inclined, diminished, or indeterminant) for 12 published hydrologic metrics (HMs) that characterize main components of flow regimes (duration, frequency, magnitude, timing, and rate of change). Model estimates came from random forest models independently built for each HM that predict flow status category using drainage area and previously summarized upst

Decision-Support Framework for Linking Regional-Scale Management Actions to Continental-Scale Conservation of Wide-Ranging Species

This data release presents the data, JAGS models, and R code used to manipulate data and to produce results and figures presented in the USGS Open File Report, "Decision-Support Framework for Linking Regional-Scale Management Actions to Continental-Scale Conservation of Wide-Ranging Species", (https://doi.org/10.5066/P93YTR3X). The zip folder is provided so that other can reproduce results from th

Physiological and Endocrine Responses of Hatchling American Kestrels (Falco sparverius) following Embryonic Exposure to Technical Short-Chain Chlorinated Paraffins (C10-13)

- Observations of test subjects and hatching data - Body weight, organ/tissue weights - Biomarker data (oxidative stress indicators, oxidative DNA damage, thyroid hormones, histological findings) in various tissues - Chemical residues in tissues

Atmospheric-loading frequency response functions and groundwater levels filtered for the effects of atmospheric loading and solid Earth tides for three USGS monitoring wells, southeastern Laramie County, Wyoming, 2014-2017

The data include atmospheric-loading frequency response functions (table 1) and filtered detrended and reconstructed (trends restored) groundwater levels (tables 2-4) computed for selected, parsed time series for three USGS monitoring wells [BR-1 (USGS site 410233104093203); LN-1 (USGS site 410233104093202); and FH-1 (USGS site 410233104093201)], and the associated hourly resampled water-level and

Geochemistry of rocks, precipitation, and water sources from Pinnacles National Park, California, 2016-2017

Ephemeral springs and other groundwater sources in Pinnacles National Park (San Benito and Monterey Counties, CA) were sample in the Spring and Fall of 2015-2017 during several field visits. Field parameters such as in-situ pH, TDS/conductivity, and temperature were assessed. GPS coordinates for all samples were taken. Comprehensive water chemistry, including major and minor elements, alkalinity,

Geospatial Fabric for National Hydrologic Modeling, version 1.1

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release consists of two hydrographic datasets with spatial modeling units consistent with the National Hydrologic Model (NHM) Geospatial Fabric for National Hydrologic Modeling (abbreviated within this document as GFv1, Viger and Bock, 2014). The two datasets found as subpages to this landing page are 1) the GIS (geographic information system) features of th

Gene expression and liver cell metabolism from Xenopus laevis tadpoles exposed to neonicotinoids

Data were collected from Xenopus laevis tadpoles exposed to clothianidin and thiamethoxam in two concentrations each, 100 ppm and 20 ppm. Gene expression was generated from brains and livers, and liver cells provided metabolic activity data.

Digital elevation models and orthoimagery from the 2018 eruption of Veniaminof, Alaska

Aerial photography surveys during and after the 2018 eruption of Veniaminof Volcano, Alaska were conducted to track the evolution of the lava flow field, active volcanic vent, and glacial ice loss from the eruption. Imagery from two surveys was processed with structure-from-motion (SfM) photogrammetric methods to derive the digital elevation models (DEMs) and orthophotos in this data release. The

Use of Carbon Dioxide to Prevent Settlement of Dreissenid Mussels

Dreissenid management has focused primarily on chemical tools which are efficacious, but not without ecological or economic costs. There is a need for additional control tools that are less expensive, readily available, and will not leave a residue after treatment. Carbon dioxide has these advantages over chemical pesticides and has demonstrated effectiveness for control of a range of aquatic inva

Stage-Storage and Bed Material Data from the 2020 Upper Letts Lake Survey, California

On October 13, 2020 a survey of Upper Letts Lake was conducted where both bathymetric and terrestrial lidar data were collected. Additionally, six bed material samples and three core samples were collected to understand the characterization of the grain-size of the lake bed. Survey data were merged with an additional lidar dataset from the USGS 3DEP program to create digital elevation model (DEM).

Physical and chemical characteristics of samples collected in the East Poplar oil field study area, Fort Peck Indian Reservation, 1952-2016 (ver. 1.1, May 2024)

These produced datasets include water-quality and quality assurance results collected by the USGS and other entities from 1952 to 2016 near the City of Poplar as well as throughout the East Poplar oil field, leachate results collected from drilling core within the Cretaceous Bearpaw Formation and Monoammonium phosphate (MAP) fertilizer results collected by the USGS in 2012. The handling and dispos

Pb-Pb and U-Pb data of Proterozoic to Phanerozoic cassiterite deposits in Russia

Cassiterite (SnO2), a main ore mineral in tin deposits, was collected by multiple Russian geologists or obtained from museum collections in both the USA and Russia and dated at the U.S. Geological Survey. The dated samples represent four different mining districts spanning the entire country from the village of Pitkaranta in the west (31 degrees E Longitude) to the Merekskoe Deposit in the Russian
