Lateral trends and vertical sequences in estuarine sediments, Willapa Bay, Washington

Willapa Bay is a sizable estuary on the southern coast of Washington- Relatively unmodified in a geologic sense by human activity the bay provides an excellent example of modern depositional facies in an estuarine setting. Studies of these deposits indicate that consistent lateral trends exist in sediment texture and sedimentary structures. The texture changes from sandy at the mouth of the bay to

Research on interactive genetic-geological models to evaluate favourability for undiscovered uranium resources

Current methods of evaluating favourability for undiscovered uranium resources are unduly subjective, quite possibly inconsistent and, as a consequence, of questionable reliability. This research is aimed at reducing the subjectivity and increasing the reliability by designing an improved method that depends largely on geological data and their statistical frequency of occurrence. This progress re

Electronic and optical modification of the engineering model FLD and the evolution of peripheral equipment

The purpose of the Workshop on Luminescence Techniques was threefold: (1) to review the state-of-the-art capabilities of luminescence methods, (2) to consider a variety of concepts for the development of future luminescence sensor systems, and (3) to discuss appropriate research and development strategies for advancing the current state-of-the-art.
