The isolation and identification of Trypanosoma cruzi from raccoons in Maryland

Five raccoons trapped at Patuxent Research Refuge, Laurel, Maryland, were found to have trypanosomes in the blood which were morphologically indistinguishable from Trypanosoma cruzi on stained smears.
